Cohen, Esq., a practicing attorney in Orange County.  Mr. Cohen’s practice is as the Assignee for the Benefit of Creditors via his company Alternative Bankruptcy Concepts, Inc.  Mr. Cohen has liquidated millions of dollars of assets via the Assignment process both by public auction and private sale.

Mr. Cohen acts in the capacity as the Assignee but in the past had represented other Assignees as their legal counsel.  He has extensive experience on all sides of the Assignment process and has been called upon to execute Assignments from individuals, fellow attorneys, accountants, financial institutions and venture capitalists/investment funds.  The Assignments are handled in a cost effective and timely manner personally by Mr. Cohen.

Mr. Cohen has a very experienced group of professional available such as auctioneers, on-site managers, appraisers, realtors, accountants and turnaround specialists on call to help in any situation. As such, Mr. Cohen handles the burden of all aspects of the Assighment from start to finish.

If there is a contemplated sale of assets in which not all creditors may be satisfied; if the sale of assets needs to be performed promptly; if the thought of losing control of a pre-arranged sale via a Bankruptcy proceeding is a valid concern; if you want creditors to receive a greater dividend then they would receive in a Bankruptcy proceeding; or if a Bankruptcy filing is not in the best interest of your client. Please call Alternative Bankruptcy Concepts, Inc.

Referring counsel are routinely requested to attain documentation and review the General Assignment agreement which fees are many times compensable as costs of the Assignment estate.  Mr. Cohen also believes in having counsel assist in collection of the accounts receivable and preferential transfers when present.  In the event that Mr. Cohen does not believe an Assignment is the best tool, the client is returned back to counsel.
